The U.S. Army was tasked with the orderly and efficient removal of approximately 140,000 U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of 2011. Concurrent with this massive drawdown, over 283 military installations were required to be turned over or closed. TRG provided logistical expertise to facilitate, advise, and assist military leaders in the timely execution of the required procedures associated with base closure in Iraq.
